$744,993 US Dollars unpaid in royalty for 82, 777 e-passports produced In Sierra Leone

Must Read

A recent audit report from Sierra Leone has revealed that the government did not receive royalty payments for e-passports produced by HID CID Limited.

The Audit highlights that a royalty amounting to US$744,993, an equivalent of NLe 170,369,295.14, was left unpaid for a batch of 82,777 e-passports produced.

According to section 1 (1.4) of the Contract Change Note, HID CID Ltd. must pay the Government of Sierra Leone 9% of the sale price of each e-passport.

However, despite this clear contractual obligation, there seems to be a lack of action from the government’s side to secure these pending royalties.

The Immigration Department did not receive any correspondence from NETPAGE as evidence of payment.
