Key Suspect Confesses in Journalist Samuel Brima Mattia’s Murder Case

The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has been informed by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) of a significant breakthrough in their investigation into the brutal killing of journalist Samuel Brima Mattia.

According to the SLP, the principal suspect, Joseph M. Lamin, who is the Station Manager of VOPAD Radio 96.5FM, has confessed to orchestrating the killing by hiring people (one Morlai and others) to kill his deputy, Samuel Brima Mattia.

Police said they have swiftly arrested the alleged hired killers and they are helping with the investigation.

SLAJ commends the SLP for their efforts and urges them to ensure justice is served. We will continue to monitor the case closely and advocate for accountability.
