Employment Ministry Revokes Licenses of Two Recruitment Agencies Over Legal Breaches

Must Read

Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security has announced the revocation of overseas recruitment licenses for two agencies, effective from January 13, 2025.

The affected entities are Obinana (SL) Limited, located at No. 6 Main Motor Road, Waterloo, and Daresallam Travelling & Employment Recruitment Agency (SL) Limited, located at 27 Jui Highway, Jui.

The cancellations arise from breaches of certain stipulations under the Overseas Employment and Migrant Workers Act of 2023. In light of these violations, the Ministry urges prospective migrant workers to avoid any recruitment-related activities with these agencies.

Individuals seeking overseas employment are strongly advised to engage only with agencies holding valid licenses. Furthermore, the Ministry recommends verifying the legitimacy of any recruitment agency and job offer by consulting with them directly before committing to any decisions.
The Ministry emphasizes that failing to comply with this advisory will result in individuals taking full responsibility for any negative consequences that may occur.
