MBSSE Sets 7th February as Final Deadline for Batch Registration

Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has announced that the Batch Registration System (BRS) process for NPSE, BECE, and WASSCE is currently ongoing, with a final deadline set for 7th February 2025.

A press release signed and dated 3rd February 2025 by the ministry’s permanent secretary explained that out of the 892 schools that have successfully uploaded their Continuous Assessment Scores (CASS) 1, only 228 schools have fully completed their BRS registration for WASSCE.

MBSSE furthered that while 880 schools have completed CASS 2, 12 schools have failed to do so, making them ineligible to upload further entries. However, MBSSE mentioned that this does not prevent them from completing their BRS entries or participating in the May 2025 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The Ministry urged Boards of Governors, Parents, Heads of Schools, Deputy Directors of Education, School Quality Assurance Officers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with the deadline. MBSSE pointed out that schools that fail to complete their BRS registration on time will render their candidates ineligible for the May 2025 WASSCE, adding that the government will not cover WASSCE fees for students from non-compliant schools.

The Ministry called on School administrators facing challenges to contact the Ministry immediately for support. MBSSE emphasizes the need for timely action to avoid previous registration issues and ensure a smooth and fair examination process for all candidates.
