Pujehun District Council Holds 18th Monthly Meeting of the 5th Council

The Pujehun District Council held its 18th ordinary rotational monthly meeting of the 5th council on Thursday, 27 March 2025, at the Rural Water Resource Office on Council Road.

This meeting marked a key moment with the return to regular council proceedings, following the prolonged absence of Chairman Foday Kandeh Rogers, who had been undergoing medical treatment for more than seven months.

In his welcome address, Philip Mando, Chairman of the Education Committee, expressed gratitude for Chairman Rogers’ recovery and return. Mando extended his best wishes for his continued good health and stressed the importance of the council meetings. He encouraged his fellow councilors to treat these meetings with the seriousness they deserve, recognizing them as essential platforms for collaboration, accountability, and decision-making that drive sustainable development in Pujehun District.

Chief Administrator Joseph T. Gando also welcomed the Chairman back, expressing appreciation for Rogers’ return. Gando emphasized the importance of these meetings in addressing key challenges facing the district’s development and enhancing service delivery. He called for unity among councilors and staff to strengthen the district’s position on the development map.

Chairman Rogers addressed the gathering, thanking the council members for their continued commitment during his absence. He praised Gando and the council staff for ensuring smooth operations despite his absence and assured the attendees that his recovery had given him fresh perspectives and ideas for development. Rogers also mentioned plans to train councilors on standard operating procedures to enhance the efficiency of council operations.

As the meeting continued, council members and stakeholders actively contributed valuable insights, discussing strategies to promote growth and improve the well-being of the Pujehun District community. The atmosphere was one of optimism and determination, with a collective desire to create positive change and foster development.

With Chairman Rogers back at the helm and a renewed focus on progress, the Pujehun District Council is poised to achieve significant development milestones in service to its people.
