East End Lions soared to the top of the Sierra Leone Premier League table with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kamboi Eagles in a thrilling encounter that had it all – goals, drama, and late heroics.

Star striker Musa ‘Tombo’ Kamara ignited the encounter with a clinical finish to put the Killers ahead early on. However, Kamboi Eagles hit back through Frank Allison, who leveled the score just before the interval.

The second half brought even more fireworks as defender Idrissa Kargbo turned the game on its head by giving the Eagles a 2-1 lead, only for Alusine Dumbuya to restore parity for Lions in an increasingly tense affair.

With the match heading for a draw, Abubakarr Sidibay emerged as the hero in stoppage time. Latching onto a sharp assist from Alhaji Jalloh, he slotted home the decisive goal, glinting wild celebrations and sending East End Lions to the top of the table with 32 points.

The match also saw tempers flare, with Kamboi Eagles head coach Jack Tonye Charles and his assistant Ansumana Kallon both shown red cards for professional misconduct on the touchline.

Adding to the shake-up at the top, long-time league leaders Bhantal suffered their first defeat of the season – a narrow 1-0 loss to Abacha City – allowing the resurgent Lions to pounce and take pole position in the title race.
