Government authorities in Sierra Leone have announced that 37 individuals named by the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) are no longer subjects of any criminal investigations and are free to go about their normal activities without restriction.
This decision follows recommendations from the Resolution 4 Oversight Committee under the Agreement for National Unity (ANU), signed on 18 October 2023 between the Government and the APC.

According to a statement from the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, the list submitted by the APC was reviewed and no grounds were found for ongoing investigations against those named.
“This decision is part of the Government’s commitment to implement all clauses in the Agreement for National Unity,” the statement read.

Cleared individuals include public figures, former security personnel, and community members such as Idrissa Hamid Kamara, Insp. Sullay Deen Sesay, Rtd. Captain Desmond Gebara, Ibrahim Jawara, Hon. David Johnson, and others.

Officials say the move is intended to reinforce political reconciliation and stability, as outlined in the ANU framework.
