In a farewell message to Embassy staff, Hunt expressed his gratitude, noting that he had “loved every moment” of his time in Sierra Leone and admired the work being done to advance U.S.-Sierra Leone relations.

The United States has pledged to continue working closely with the government and people of Sierra Leone to build on the foundation laid during Hunt’s tenure.
