President Julius Maada Bio has nominated Abdul Aziz as Sierra Leone’s next Auditor-General, subject to parliamentary approval.
The announcement was made in a press release from State House on Thursday, July 3, 2025. The nomination follows consultations with the Public Service Commission, in line with Section 119(1) of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone.
If approved, Mr. Aziz will lead the Audit Service Sierra Leone, the agency responsible for auditing public funds and promoting transparency and accountability in governance.
The official statement, signed by Press Secretary Yusuf Keketon Sandi, described the appointment as part of the president’s commitment to upholding constitutional processes in key public sector positions.
