FREETOWN, Sierra Leone – Bo City singer and songwriter Francis Reffel, known by his stage name Keltony, has been crowned winner of the Cribs International Talent Search 2025.
This year’s edition of the Cribs Talent Search built on a strong foundation laid during its national launch in early 2025. Registration opened in January, with forms made available at Cribs International’s Hill Station office in Freetown. The competition officially kicked off on March 25, attracting over 200 unsigned artists from across the country, a major milestone for the local music industry.
Spearheaded by Sho Cole, the Cribs Talent Search was designed as a nationwide platform to discover and elevate Sierra Leone’s next generation of music stars. Contestants not only competed for prizes but also received mentorship, vocal training, and exposure to industry professionals.
Keltony claimed the top spot during the grand finale held Saturday night at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown, earning a cash prize of NLe300,000, a record deal, full album production, and long-term career support with Cribs International.
“We’re excited to announce him as the latest signee to the Cribs International family,” said Sho Cole, CEO of Cribs International.
CEO Cole added that a new star has been born and emphasized that this is just the beginning of Keltony’s journey, noting that the world is about to hear his latest signee loud and clear.
Keltony has already worked with some of Sierra Leone’s most recognized musicians, including Amb Kao, Drizilik, and Markmuday. His win adds momentum to a career that is already gaining attention in the Afrobeat scene.
The finale brought out a full house of fans and music lovers from across the country. Finalists Melrose Fatima Swarray (#62), Anita Macmillan Sesay (#139), Frankstella Freeman (#150), and Chocolate and Makissa (#224) all delivered strong performances, impressing a panel of judges led by Nigerian producer MasterKraft.
Other standout contestants also walked away with major opportunities. Amarachuku Linus secured a record deal with Cribs International, while BBL 1 and Mamoud were each offered EP deals.
As Keltony takes his place on the national stage, his journey represents more than just personal success; it reflects a growing music movement in Sierra Leone, where young talents are beginning to find the structure and support needed to thrive.
Cribs International has promised continued investment in emerging artists, signaling a bright future for the country’s creative sector.
