Diamond Stars stage dramatic comeback to beat FC Kallon

Must Read

Diamond Stars staged a stunning comeback from two goals down as Baimba Sesay’s 70th-minute winner gave them a dramatic victory against FC Kallon in a Premier League thriller at Approved School Field.

The Easterners looked down and out, feeling the wrath of their travelling supporters as goals from talisman Hassan Milla Koroma and Christopher Bangura gave the Cavaliers a thoroughly deserved half-time advantage inside 31 minutes.

Milla steered home an excellent finish from Momoh Lappo’s brilliant pass after 15 minutes, before Christopher’s second as Sahr Musa sent in the delivery.

FC Kallon continued to pose threats, but Diamond Stars showed great resilience and were inspired by Osman Komba’s 46th-minute goal. As the melee proceeded, Abubakar levelled for Diamond Stars, and Baimba netted the winner, earning them their first away win.

In Port Loko, Bai Bureh Warriors suffered another home defeat with a 2-1 loss to Abacha City. Foday James Kargbo and Ishmail Sesay scored for the newcomers, while the Sabanoh Boys’ only goal was netted by Momoh Bangura.

The match at the SLFA Academy between Old Edwardians and Luawa FC ended goalless, as May Park Boys’ Abdulai Barrie was sent off 5 minutes into the second half.

Today’s fixtures: Bullom Stars v Mighty Blackpool, East End Lions v Ports Authority, Wusum Stars v Kamboi Eagles, and Star Sport Academy v Bo Rangers.
