Freetown, June 19, 2025— Aerial inspections of the CLSG electricity transmission line will take place across Sierra Leone from June 19 to June 25, 2025, according to an official public notice issued by TRANSCO CLSG.
The operation, approved by the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority, is being carried out by Côte d’Ivoire Energies (CIE), the company responsible for operating and maintaining the regional power infrastructure.
The survey will assess the condition of the 225kV transmission line that runs through the districts of Pujehun, Kenema, Kono, Tonkolili, Bombali, Koinadugu, Kambia, and Karene. Helicopters will fly at low altitudes along the corridor and are expected to make planned stops at substations in Lungi, Tiloma, and Bumbuna for technical coordination.
“There is no cause for panic or fear during the helicopter’s passage over the identified districts,” the statement noted.
TRANSCO CLSG has assured the public that the activity is part of routine maintenance and poses no risk to public safety. All aviation and safety procedures are being strictly followed.
