“I am honoured to serve” – Mohamed Kallon

New Leone Stars Coach Mohamed Kallon, has told journalists that he feels honoured to serve his country.

Speaking during his unveiling ceremony on Wednesday evening at the SLFA Academy, Kallon thanked the NSA, the SLFA, and the Ministry of Sports for his appointment.

The 45-year-old signed a three-year contract subject to renewal. He has also been given 90 days to leave FC Kallon as head coach and focus on Leone Stars.

The former Leone Stars captain will choose his backroom staff and will have the opportunity to pay them from the government fund.

Mohamed Kallon, who named a 25-man home-based squad over a week ago, will have his first test in the World Cup qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau (home) and Egypt (away) on 17 and 24 March 2025, respectively.
