Must Read

It was a standout evening at the 67th Grammy Awards for Compton’s very own Kendrick Lamar, as his track “Not Like Us” grabbed five prestigious Grammy trophies. Known for its bold diss of fellow rapper Drake, “Not Like Us” took home honors for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video of the Year.

With this achievement, Kendrick Lamar preserved his position as one of rap’s most acclaimed artists in Grammy history. Larmar has earned 57  Grammy nominations and 22 wins throughout his illustrious career.

The Grammy victories perfectly cap off a monumental 2024 for Lamar. His highly publicized rap contest with Drake captured headlines, with many fans and critics hailing Lamar as the victor, particularly after his hit “Not Like Us” and the thrilling “The Pop Out” concert held in Los Angeles on Juneteenth.

Continuing his upward trajectory, in the fall, Lamar was picked to headline the Super Bowl 59 halftime show in New Orleans, an announcement that later included R&B sensation SZA, sparking fan speculation of a taste of their joint tour.

Adding to the excitement, Lamar surprised his audience in November with the release of his sixth studio album, “GNX.” This latest project feature tracks like “Wacced Out Murals,” “Squabble Up,” and “TV Off,” further showcasing his dynamic range and storytelling prowess.
