Abass Conteh hit a late winner as Ports Authority claimed their first Premier League victory of the season by beating Luawa FC at Approved School Field.

The striker fired in from Mohamed Bangura’s pass with seven minutes remaining in a dramatic conclusion.

At the end of this breathless encounter, the overwhelming feeling was one of relief, and the away fans finally had something to celebrate after losing their first three games.

Whilst the win has lifted Ports Authority out of the drop zone to thirteenth, Luawa FC suffered their first loss of the season after a fine start.

In the other match, Diamond Stars, who are still searching for their first win (D3, L1), were held to a 1-1 draw by newcomers Star Sport Academy (W1, D2, L1).

Match Week 5 starts on Wednesday as fifth-placed East End Lions go away to ninth-placed Freetown City FC at Approved School Field. Two games will be played on Friday: Bhantal face Freetonians SLIFA at Approved School Field, while Wilberforce Strikers entertain Bai Bureh Warriors at SLFA Academy.
