The program gathered female inmates, correctional staff, and advocates for a day of workshops and discussions designed to raise awareness about gender-based violence and the importance of rehabilitation.

Participants engaged in various activities that emphasized unity andresilience, working together to foster a supportive environment for women facing challenges both inside and outside the prison system.

The initiative marks a significant step toward restoring dignity to women who have experienced violence and marginalization. By addressing the root causes of violence and promoting mental health, it advocates for their rights and facilitates their reintegration into society.

The collaboration with MoGCA highlights a commitment to addressing systemic issues that affect women in the criminal justice system. By creating a platform for dialogue and education, the initiative aims to empower these women and equip them with the necessary tools for a successful reintegration post-incarceration.

This program is part of a broader movement to end gender-based violence in Sierra Leone, rallying support from communities and organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment and social justice.

Conclusively, as the program unfolds, it promises to pave the way for transformative change, ensuring that incarcerated women are treated with dignity and respect, ultimately fostering a more inclusive society.
