PAC Issues Seven-Day Ultimatum to MNOs and ISPs to Submit Audited Financial Statements

Must Read

Freetown, 9 April 2025 – The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Sierra Leone has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to submit their audited financial statements.

This directive follows Wednesday’s public hearing held as part of the Committee’s ongoing review of the Auditor General’s Report for 2023.

Chaired by Deputy Speaker Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, the PAC convened with officials from the Universal Access Development Fund (UADF), during which it ordered key service providers—including Orange, Africell, Qcell, Zoodlabs, Metro Cable, and K3—to comply with the request no later than Wednesday, 16 April 2025.

PAC emphasized that the submission of such documents is a legal requirement in the execution of its constitutional mandate. Any failure to comply may be deemed contempt of Parliament.

Upon receipt of the audited financial statements, the Committee will proceed to verify and calculate the exact amounts owed to the government, in accordance with the law.

The PAC has further summoned the aforementioned MNOs and ISPs to appear before it on Wednesday, 23 April 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Parliament Building, with the required documents for official review. The timeline considers the observance of the Easter holidays.
