On Wednesday, September 10, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) announced the arrest of six men linked to armed robberies in Bo and Kenema, one of which resulted in the death of Reverend Father Augustine Dauda Amadu.
Father Amadu was fatally attacked in Kenema, while another victim, Mr. John Lamina, sustained serious injuries during a related incident in Bo. According to police, the suspects were tracked down during ongoing operations and found with firearms and housebreaking tools.

Those arrested have been identified as Gbassay Swarray, alias “Success,” a suspect in a previous Moyamba murder case; Joseph Kamagy Kamara, alias “Shine”; Martin Sallu, an ex-convict; Joseph Bangalie, alias “Boika,” also an ex-convict; Foday Sallu; and Foday Hassan Sesay, who police say was caught with one of Mr. Lamina’s stolen belongings.
The SLP added that a manhunt is still underway for other suspects believed to be involved.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a Guinean-Belgian national was arrested at Lungi International Airport for possession of unlawful substances.

Police thanked members of the public for their cooperation and urged continued vigilance and information sharing to help ensure community safety.
