PPRC to Commence Hearings on SLPP Petitions

Sierra Leone’s Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) announced last week that it will begin hearings on petitions from members of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) on Monday, 24th February 2025. The hearings will take place at the Commission’s Conference Room on OAU Drive, Tower Hill, Freetown.

PPRC further mentioned in a notice dated 21st February 2025 that proceedings on Monday will focus on Western Area Rural and Urban constituencies, adding that hearings will continue throughout the week, covering districts including Moyamba, Bo, Kailahun, Bombali, Kono, Kenema, and Port Loko.

The Commission also noted that each district has been assigned a specific date and time, with the final session scheduled for Friday, 28 February for all constituencies in Port Loko District.

“In light of the above, the National Officers, Members of the District Elections Complaint Committee (RECC), Petitioners, Constituency, and Chiefdom Executives should all be in attendance, where necessary,” the PPRC stated in its notice, pointing out that all concerned parties are required to bring supporting documents to substantiate their claims.

This announcement follows a previous press release issued by the Commission on February 20, 2025, adding that “let it be also noted that the following constituencies should also be put on hold i.e Constituency 086 in Bo District, Constituency 118 in Western Urban and Constituency 037 in Bombali District.”
