Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko is expected in Freetown today Monday June 2 to Tuesday June 3, 2025 for a working and friendly visit to consolidate bilateral gains between the two countries.

The Prime Minister’s visit is a follow up from the visit to Sierra Leone of the Senegalese President, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Thursday 13th June 2024. During that visit, several cooperation agreements were signed in the field of mining, trade, commerce, fisheries, agriculture, infrastructure and petrol and gas.

Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko

The Prime Minister and his delegation will hold bilateral engagements with their Sierra Leonean counterparts on mining, energy, and the proposed mineral hub between the two countries. The Prime Minister will also meet with the President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio. Before their departure, they will visit the Marampa Mines in Lunsar.
