Sierra Leone and Senegal Sign Several Cooperation Agreements

Sierra Leone and Senegal today Tuesday 3rd June, 2025 signed several Cooperation Agreements in Freetown following a working session between officials of the two countries.

The Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko and delegation were yesterday received in Sierra Leone on a working visit to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Several memorandums of understanding were signed involving the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and several officials from both sides.

These bilateral agreements focus on energy, the development of natural resources, and the facilitation of investments between the two countries. They aim to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and increase economic exchanges in West Africa.

APIX SA, a Senegalese agency responsible for promoting investments and facilitating the implementation of major infrastructure projects, represented by its Director General- Bakary Sega Bathily, signed an agreement with the Sierra Leone National Investment Board, represented by Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy.

APIX-SA on Monday 25th November,2024 hosted a delegation from the Sierra Leone National Investment Board and the Public Sector Reform Unit during their study tour in Dakar.

Also, the Senegalese Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, Abdourahmane Sarr signed an agreement with the Sierra Leone Minister of Finance, Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura.
