Freetown, March 27, 2025 – Sierra Leone has officially launched its national Mpox vaccination campaign, reinforcing its commitment to disease prevention and public health protection.

The National Public Health Agency of Sierra Leone (NPHA-SL) announced that the country has secured 61,300 doses of the Mpox vaccine, which will be strategically administered to frontline health workers and high-risk communities. The campaign prioritizes individuals aged 12 and above, focusing on those most vulnerable to infection.

This milestone marks a significant step in Sierra Leone’s efforts to enhance epidemic preparedness and strengthen public health resilience. The nationwide rollout aims to ensure widespread protection against Mpox and mitigate the risk of future outbreaks.
