Monrovia, Liberia – March 20, 2025 -Sierra Leone’s national team, the Leone Stars, delivered a commanding performance to claim a 3-1 victory over Guinea-Bissau in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
The match saw Mustapha Bundu open the scoring in the 19th minute, giving Sierra Leone an early advantage. In the second half, Musa Noah Kamara extended the lead in the 61st minute with an assist from veteran forward Kei Kamara.

Despite Toni Monteiro pulling one back for Guinea-Bissau in the 68th minute, Sierra Leone sealed the win deep into stoppage time as substitute Ibrahim Turay found the net in the 96th minute.
The victory elevates Sierra Leone to second place in Group A of the World Cup qualifiers, accumulating eight points from five matches, while Guinea-Bissau now sits third with six points.
