SLFA Electoral Committee Confirms Candidates for 2025 Elections

Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Electoral Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced the outcome of the nomination and vetting process for candidates seeking election during the SLFA Ordinary Congress, set for August 2, 2025.

In line with the SLFA Statutes, Electoral Code, and the official Electoral Roadmap, the nomination period opened on June 5 and closed on June 15 at 5:00 p.m., giving interested parties a ten-day window to submit their application documents.

Each nomination was reviewed against the eligibility criteria set out in Article 25(3) and Article 32(4 & 5) of the SLFA Statutes. These include requirements such as active involvement in football over the past five years and proof of residency, among other conditions.

Following a detailed review of all application bundles, the Committee has confirmed the following candidates as eligible to contest the 2025 elections. The final confirmation is subject to integrity checks to be conducted by the SLFA Ethics Committee.

For the presidency, four candidates have qualified: Ms. Aminata Bangura, Mr. Babadi Kamara, Mr. Thomas Brima, and Mr. Umaru Bah.

Two individuals will contest for the position of Vice President 1: Mr. Alie Badara Tarawallie and Mr. Harold Nathaniel Bankole Johnson. The Vice President 2 position will be contested by Mr. Christian Dauda Thompson and Mr. Prince Kai Saquee.

In the Ex-Officio category, the qualified candidates are Ms. Musu Bangura, Ms. Ramatulai Kamara, Mr. Abdul Aziz Jalloh, Mr. Mohamed Sorie Jalloh, Mr. Musa Komrabai Dura Mahmood, Mr. Kweku Melvin Sheldon Lisk, and Mr. Kasho Joseph Holland Cole.

The SLFA Electoral Committee reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and credible election process in line with the Association’s governing principles.
