The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has established an Adhoc Committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of former Mighty Blackpool player, Bureh Ganso Koroma, who passed away after suffering severe injuries during an on-pitch collision in a friendly match between Leone Stars and Mighty Blackpool in May 2025.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the SLFA said the decision was taken by its Executive Committee in line with Article 55 of the SLFA Statutes, following public concerns and allegations of neglect involving officials of the SLFA and the National Men’s Team.

The committee has been mandated to conduct a thorough and independent inquiry to determine what happened, assess claims of negligence, ensure accountability, and make recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The committee members appointed are Victor Idrissa Lansana Esq (Chairman), Sadick Deen Nyarkoh (Vice Chairman), Dr. Joseph Edwin Kanu (Member), Alhaji Abubakarr S. A. Rahman (Member), and Ms. Victoria Conteh (Member).

The committee will begin work immediately and is expected to submit its findings to the SLFA Executive Committee within the required timeframe.

The SLFA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of player welfare, safety, and professional conduct across all levels of football in Sierra Leone.
