President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima, along with Acting Secretary-General Mohamed Bawoh and the association’s Finance Officer, Ibrahim Bah, has been denied bail as the country’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) launches an investigation into the SLFA’s executive.
ACC has confirmed that an inquiry is ongoing and has invited the media for an imminent briefing to disclose further details, which remain unclear at this time.
Their detention comes just two days before the highly anticipated SLFA Congress, a crucial event that will set the stage for the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, FIFA delegates are expected to arrive in Sierra Leone ahead of the congress, scheduled for Saturday, April 5.
