Malema, Sorogbema Chiefdom – Police in the Mano River Division have arrested two individuals for unlawful possession of controlled drugs, following a targeted operation in Jendema Town on Sunday.

Led by Detective Sergeant 9523 Bangura John Alusine of the Malema Police Station, the team apprehended Ansu Borsua and Isata Mambu, both residents of Jendema. According to the Sierra Leone Police Media, the suspects were found with 974 cards and four full packs of substances believed to be Tapentadol or Tramadol—prescription drugs that are tightly regulated due to their potential for abuse.

The arrests were based on actionable intelligence and are part of the division’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse in the region. Police say investigations are continuing, and the suspects remain in custody.

Authorities have called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to illegal drug distribution.
