ACC Signs Agreement with Russia to Fight Corruption

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Sierra Leone has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to enhance cooperation in the fight against corruption.

The signing took place on 16 December during the United Nations Convention against Corruption Conference at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort.

The ACC Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala, signed on behalf of Sierra Leone, while Russia’s Prosecutor General, Alexander Gutsan, signed for his country.

The agreement is based on equality and mutual respect, aiming to improve collaboration in preventing, investigating, and prosecuting corruption-related offences.

Under the MoU, both countries will exchange information, share best practices, and organize joint trainings, workshops, and conferences.

The agreement also includes legal cooperation, practical staff training, and the use of modern investigative tools to strengthen capacity and effectiveness.
