Must Read

Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh today officially launched the Sierra Leone Country Economic Memorandum (CEM) and the Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR), two pivotal documents prepared by the World Bank. These reports provide comprehensive analyses of the country’s growth trajectory amid climate change threats and offer strategic pathways for sustainable development.

During the launch, Vice President Jalloh emphasized the importance of restoring macroeconomic stability, creating an enabling environment to better leverage the private sector, and building human capital as key priorities identified by the reports. He highlighted the need for a strong regulatory environment to facilitate private sector finance, aiming to sustainably create jobs and drive inclusive economic growth.

The Vice President noted that the findings of the reports align with the government’s ongoing efforts to bring inflation down to single digits, reduce interest rates, and implement other monetary and fiscal policy reforms. He expressed gratitude to the World Bank for conducting this comprehensive stocktaking exercise, recognizing the valuable insights provided to guide Sierra Leone’s economic and climate resilience strategies.

The launch event was attended by key government officials, development partners, and stakeholders committed to advancing Sierra Leone’s sustainable development agenda.
