FREETOWN, Sierra Leone – A Kenema resident, Abu Fomba, has become the winner of Mercury International Sierra Leone Limited’s nationwide “Win Your Dream House” promotion, receiving the keys to a fully furnished two-bedroom bungalow during a presentation ceremony at TAF Salone Micro City Estate in John Obey, Freetown.
The presentation, held on Monday, marked the conclusion of the company’s four-month customer promotion, which ran from April 1 to July 20. The final raffle draw was conducted on July 21 and 22 following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mercury International Sierra Leone Limited’s Managing Director, Martin Edmond Michael, said the promotion was introduced to reward customer loyalty with a prize that would have a lasting impact on the winner’s life.

According to the company, the self-contained bungalow is valued at approximately US$80,000, equivalent to about NLe2.4 million.
“This is the biggest raffle promotion in the history of sports betting in Sierra Leone,” Michael said. “Today we are presenting a house, a life-changing asset that will benefit the winner and his family for many years.”
He thanked the company’s employees, retail agents and customers for supporting the promotion and announced that Mercury International plans to introduce two additional customer reward campaigns before the end of the year.
Receiving the keys to his new home, Fomba said he initially struggled to believe he had won the grand prize.
“When Mercury called to tell me that I had won the house, I thought it wasn’t real,” he said. “Even while travelling from Kenema to Freetown, I still couldn’t believe it. It is only now, after receiving the keys, that I truly believe this house belongs to me.”
He expressed gratitude to Mercury International for fulfilling its promise and said he hopes his experience will encourage more people to participate in future promotions.
The presentation officially brought to a close one of Mercury International Sierra Leone Limited’s largest customer reward campaigns, with Fomba leaving the event as the owner of a new fully furnished home.
