The National Revenue Authority (NRA) will host the 7th High-Level Policy Dialogue and the 21st General Assembly of the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) in Freetown from September 15 to 19, 2025. The meetings will be held under the theme “Financing Development Through Effective Tax Systems.”

The gatherings will bring together senior government officials, tax experts, and international partners to discuss strategies for improving tax administration, strengthening compliance, and enhancing revenue mobilization across the region.

NRA Commissioner General Jeneba J. Bangura said the events will provide a platform for sharing ideas on digitalizing tax services, adopting innovative policies, and tackling tax evasion and avoidance. She added that collaboration between tax authorities, the private sector, and civil society is essential for building public trust and creating a fairer, more efficient system.

By hosting these high-profile meetings, the NRA aims to reinforce Sierra Leone’s commitment to fiscal reform and international cooperation. Organizers expect the discussions to produce practical recommendations that will strengthen tax systems across ECOWAS and support sustainable economic growth.
